Description:
This standalone program would read in bit mapped, high-resolution color images (in a variety of standard formats, including jpeg and tiff), capture sequences of subframes based on user-defined parameters, and output them as AVI or similar format video files.
The function of the program is to digitally simulate camera moves such as pan, zoom and rotation. The parameters allow the user to specify a starting location, size and rotational angle of a portion of the full image, the same characteristics for the ending location, and the time to accomplish the action. These parameters can be saved and associated with that clip.
Other parameters include pauses during the simulated camera motion and the path of the motion (straight line or curved).
Based on the starting and ending frame characteristics and the time to accomplish them, the program will calculate (e.g. interpolate or extrapolate) intermediate frames to a specified constant output resolution (e.g. 640x480), and write the result as an AVI or MPEG file. A preview function will let the user view the result. A sequence of such scenes can be pasted together to make a longer action.
Fast execution and simple, easy-to-use, intuitive graphical interface are important.
Suggest using Visual Basic and/or commonly-available graphics utilities such as Lead Tools.
