Santa Paravia for Windows is the official port of a classic BASIC game, originally developed by George Blank for the TRS-80. Inspired by Hamurabi, Santa Paravia in turn inspired the development of cames like Caesar III and Civilization.

This is a terrible attempt at a game.
The game drew an unusable map, didn't
care if I killed off my people, sold
all my land or anything. The game also
went into infinate loops sometimes...
Not worth downloading.

Please keep in mind that this is a port
of a TRS-80 game and was a classic in
its time, and was widely ported to
other systems. See
http://www.Jeffrey.Henning.com for more
details. This is a great game and
played an important role in the
development of computer games like
Civilization.
And you haven't lived
until you've programmed a system with
4KB RAM. :-)

Old-time players of the TRS-80 version
love the graphics, which bring make
nostalgic memories of the original. I'd
love to offer a mode with modern
graphics, but I'm not an artist. If
someone else is, I'll gladly integrate
their graphics as an optional
mode.
As to the ability to kill off
all your people, that's from the
original, but I'm thinking of adding a
revised rule set that prevents things
like that.
As for the infinite loop,
if you give me any feedback on when it
occurred, I will fix it.
One of the
points of publishing the source code is
to encourage other people to make and
submit improvements.
Best
regards,
Jeffrey

I programmed on a 4k Interact

the same time, so I can echo
