I made this project with a single goal in mind; to create a reusable Managed DirectX class library that can be used as a foundation for basic 2D games. I hope that I have succeeded. As a fellow game hobbiest, I present the GameUtil class library to you, so you too can benefit from its code. You can use it in any way you so desire; start your own 2D game, extend and/or alter the code for your own needs, or just browse the source code for learning purposes. For your convenience and as a mini-tutorial, I've included a demo project that shows how easy it is to get a basic 2D game engine built, using the GameUtil class library. For more information, please read the About.htm file located in the main GameUtil folder.

I have the DirectX 9 SDK instaled on my
machine. I'm running on XP and I get
this error...
An unhandled exception
of type
'System.IO.FileNotFoundException'
occurred in DemoApp.exe
Additional
information: File or assembly name
Microsoft.DirectX.DirectInput, or one
of its dependencies, was not
found.
Ideas, hints, suggestions?
Would appreciate any help. Thanks

I figured it out. Even though I had
references to all of the DLLs, I had to
include the
Microsoft.DirectX.DirectInput.dll file
to the project, then all worked
fine.
5 Globes from me

CHECK OUT MY DX9 TOOLS FOR 2D GAMES!!!
Search for DX9 Tools 2D on P.S.C. MY
DX9 TOOLS UTILIZES Direct3D, BUT IT
LETS YOU USE DIRECT3D WITHOUT HAVING TO
KNOW ANY D3D CODE!!! It also does
sound, music, and all that stuff. And
you can see the DirectX code and learn
from it. Search for DX9 Tools 2D on PSC
and download it!!!
