Description:
'Pleae help, I'm using Access 2000 and have a table "Matl Test" with 4 fields, "TestMethod ID", "TestMethod", "Item", & "Category". On the matl form I have a combo box linked to this table to the "Item" field. When the users selects the appropriate item I want the category field be posted into the text box below, basically linking the item selected in the combo box to the appropriate category. I have already tried coding this code in the category text box. Private Sub Item_AfterUpdate() Me![Category] = Me![Item].Column(2) End Sub

Hi kaylita7,
Can you post your code/mdb file along with your bid? I think this is easily corrected, but I would like to see the file before bidding.
Regards,
Mike |

Hi Kaylita,
I reviewed and corrected the file you sent. When a user changes their selection in the combo box, the text field below is updated with the correct category. I also added some code to force the form to display the appropriate category when it first loads. Please accept my bid and I'll forward the file to you along with the commented code so that you can see how I accomplished this.
Regards,
Mike
P.S. - There was one other change that I'll explain by email after you've accepted my bid. |
