Description:
I'd like to have someone write a simple VB application for me.
1) sits in icon tray while running
2) filters spam email on incoming pop3 connections according to basic rulesets that can be turned on/off via an options panel.
3) ruleset data is in an external text file, preferably xml or other easy to edit/read format.
Replies to questions
1. Are you using Outlook or Eudora?
I'd like to do this at the socket level, so it would work for any application that makes a remote connection to port 110 to recieve email.
2. What to do with filtered email, delete or move to another folder or what?
three configuration options
1) change subject
2) add custom header (ie. X-Spam-Flag: {true,false})
3) add analysis info (which rules caught it)
Rulesets would have three parts.
1) part to search in (subject,body,all,sender or custom header)
2) match requirement (is,contains,not,doesn't contain)
3) action(delete,mark as spam)
a simple rule would be ( check body if it contains "viagra" or "vi4gra4" ... mark as spam )
Deliverables:
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
At least Windows 2000/XP, but I'd like it to run on ME/98/95 as well.

Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
