Description:
I want to migrate the Voting control from www.asp.net (http://www.asp.net/ControlGallery/ControlDetail.aspx?Control=127&tabindex=2) from C#/SQL Server, to VB.NET/Access DB.

It should be only translated not modified on its design.
Also the SQL objects used must be oledb so the control can connect to access.
Deliverables: -The control sourcecode -The access Database A working sample project (a webproject with an aspx with the control inserted)
Platform:
Windows, .NET, IIS
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:

Hello Emilio
We meet again. Thanks for the invitation.
I'v downloaded the Vote Control and mounted the project. It is an interesting project. It would basically involve transferring the stored procedures in SQL Server to an OLEDBTransaction object, then translating the code to VB.NET, preserving the Namespace and the classes as what they are.
Setting up a sample webproject with the control inserted is a given. That would be taken care of as well.
As soon as I get word from you, I would start on it. Let me know if there are any issues you would need cleared up.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards Onyekachi Izukanne

Hi Emilio
I've been studying the VoteControl code. While you would want the project not to involve changing the code, just translating it, I would suggest a small modification. In the Vote.cs, the reference to the 'pathToXml' string, which is an attribute holding the path to the Poll.Xml file is absolute. As such, the control would always look for the xml file at this exact filepath, and this does not seem a very flexible model. I would simply suggest making the value of the pathToXml an attribute that the Control Designer can specify at design time. Beyond that, I think the control is just great as is.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards Onyekachi Izukanne
