Description:
1. A tool. Used to graphically create/map hotzones on an image. End result of the mapping is the creation of HandV coordinates and a unique zone-id for storage in an xml-like file or database. The realtime outlining, using a mouse, must produce a colored visual line (outline) while being performed. The zones must be modifiable (ability to stretch, change shape and erase). This tool must perform sililarly to an existing product already on the market called Image Mapper by Coffecup Software although that product only produces an output consisting of a sourcecode containing html area map statements where as this new product must produce storable, re-retrievable HandV coordinates from a database. User must be able to open existing image-overlay files and make changes, additions and deletions to the zones. Please review www.activ8now.com to understand this requirement more.
2. javascript or similar code which can produce visual, colored outlines on top of an image mapped to cordinates passed to it which directly relate to html area map statements. This javascript is to be embeddable in an html page to enhance the existing code by making it visual.
Deliverables: Additional requirements......
1. The user must be able to select and open an image somewhere on his/her network, add or modify its hotzones and save the image and hotzones as a project. 2. hotzones need to be switchable/assignable as either outlines or color-filled areas. Also, when 'outline' is choosen, user must be able to select thickness (ie. values 1 to 10). Both hotzones types should allow color selection/change (ie. after created, user can rightclick or highlight a zone and select a color, preferably from a pallete but a list of 6 to 10 choices will suffice. 3. Use must always be able to open saved projects and modify their hotzones (ie. colors, zonetype - filled or outline, and re-shape or remove them. 4. each hotzone will need a simple, unique, generated, unmodifiable, id and a modifiable text area for the user to describe it (ie. 'hand', 'right foot'). Image type allowed to be opened for mapping must include JPG, BMP and GIF. Other types would be welcome.
So the 'project' will consist of one image plus 1 or more hotzone attributes consisting of the ID, Description, Zonetype, color, thickness and comma-delimited coordinates.
Additionally you must provide to me
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Program must be runnable on pc type computers
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Apr 30, 2003 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.

Hello,
This is an interesting project. Your website at www.activ8now.com is very professional and nicely laid-out.
I have an extensive background in image related coding. As I imagine you are the same, I am picky about who I work with on rent-a-coder. Your bid request is well put together. I appreciate this. I'm sure I could put a product together for you that would save you time generating/editing/loading image maps.
Let me attempt to reiterate how I understand your software need. You need an application that allows a user to outline 'hotzones', or in the case of image maps, 'areas'. These zones are stored in a database. Later they can be loaded from the db, and the tool you need allows the user to see previous delineations and manipulate them. Additionally, a user could generate image map html code from the hotzone data stored in the db.
Related to this application, you are also looking for some javascript code to show the hotzone delineations in a web browser.
Let me know if I am on track here. I can put the application I describe above together relatively easily if you so desire.
Thank you for this opportunity to bid on this project.
