Description:
We would like a Delphi 7 program that does the following:
1. Upon installation looks to see if Outlook / Outlook Express are installed. If so, it should prompt the user to select an existing account.
2. The program should create a duplicate of that account, but called something like "mailing list" and set to localhost port x
3. The program should monitor port x. When an email is sent to that port, the program should allow the user to connect to a database (either by selecting the file, odbc driver or building a connection string) and specify email address field, and 0-3 fields that form the recipient name.
We have D4 source code for a program that intercepts outgoing emails in this way (for the purposes of checking attachments) so that should make it simpler.
4. If the email contains anything between [% and %], e.g. [% my field %] then it should prompt something like "what do you mean by [% my field %]?" and let them select a field to replace it.
5. Database connection and fields selected should be saveable as a "rule" that can be selected from a list in future.
The program should allow the user to send the emails using SMTP or DNS (either using Indy components or Legitima SMTPRelayServer as you prefer). We have code for detecting DNS server address. SMTP server details should be picked up from the outlook/outlook ex account selected.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Delphi 7

Dear Customer,
I can write the program you asked within deadline. A lot more information will be required to clarify exactly what you want, but I'll try to formulate what I THINK you mean:
1. Program must import mail-server settings from Outlook for selected account.
2. Must intercept mails sent from OUTLOOK through that account and re-send it to a list of emails from DB.
3. While sending messages strings like '[%varName%]' will act as variables to be replaced by fields from database.
4. All parameters (like DB connection, mail servers /etc) must be configurable.
If this is what you meant and if you already have some code - I see no problem with completing this project fairly quickly.
Regards, CybriD |
