Description:
Exercise 1.
Assuming that you have been called upon to write the program to process the information entered by the user. Your job does not concern the Web and as such, it is not important to you to know how the information was collected. However, you are required to print out information such as: flavour, size of cone, price, number ordered, total price for each flavour. If the user has selected more than one flavour, the information is printed for each. At the end, you print the total amount payable by the customer. You also have to check for availability.
Assume that the price of the ice-cream cone sizes are as follows:
small 65 p
medium 85
large £1.00
xlarge £1.20
The ice-cream flavours are: mint, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, orange, banana. The chocolate flavour attracts an additional 5p charge for all the cone sizes. Assume that the stock numbers are in units of xlarge cone sizes. Hence, if there is one available, all cone sizes are covered. Also assume that xlarge is equal to 2*small.
If the user does not specify the number of ice-cream, a default value of one is used.
Exercise 2.
Modify the program to read the price information from a file (icecream_price.d) assuming that the data is stored in two columns, with the left column containing the cone size and the right column containing the prices. The stock available for the different flavours are also stored in a file (icecream_stock.d) with the flavours in the left column and the amount in the right column.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Platform:
Linux redhat 7.3
