Description:
When I update a database record, the database file grows dramatically even though the data being saved hasn&'t changed at all. I need a solution to this so that the database stops growing to large. Attached is an example of the problem. The code is commented so you can see the problem. Please send back a working compiled copy of this to be considered.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.

Hey,
This is MS Access doing what it does best...working ineffeciently. This is a common problem caused by access, you cannot stop this from happening, however you can compact the database in the code after a predetermined amount of time.
I would not advise doing this after every update as it would cause a big delay.
Attatched is your code with the compact_db routine.
It has a new reference of the MS DAO object library.
