Description:
I have a web site at http://a-work-from-home-opportunity.com. The web site is set up like a small internet mall, presently with only two stores. What I need is a small script written that I can add to this web site that will create a button that when clicked, will forward each new visitor alternately to one of two specific pages on that site. Those pages will be the home pages of each of the two stores. What I want is to equally divide the initial visitors to my web site between the two stores.
Additionally, since I expect this mall to expand, I want the ability to personally make the necessary adjustments so that I can divide the initial visitors between any number of stores. I am a web designer, but I am not experienced in programming. So it would be necessary that the system be simple for a non programmer. I would also like to be able to use the image of my choice as the button, if possible, although that is a minor point.
Please send me your estimates for doing this work.

Deliverables: Same as in the Description Above
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

I would propose a system similar to a banner rotator. Your main index.htm page would use SSI to run a script that your generate the link. -- I would provide an admin screen where you can add|edit|delete stores, so there is no need to modify the script as you add stores to the site. Each store entry would consist of [1] url, [2] link text (optional), [3] rotation rank [1-10], [4] an enable|disable switch, and [5] a counter. -- All would be written in Perl. -- Since your main inded.htm page is currently a single flash image, the link would have to be placed on the page separately in order for the SSI to work. |
