Description:
This is help for a personal project I could never seem to get right. I have a text file with URLs(over 50,000), 1 URL per line. example:
http://search.yahoo.com/bin/search?p=example http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=example
What I need is a program to parse out the domain name, like from the example above:
yahoo.com google.com
The URLs are all different lenghts. Some of the work has already been done so some URLs will be already have the domain names parsed by hand. Would like to see in VB so I can see how it was all done and mybe add things to it in the future.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
win2k win98 winxp
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Sep 30, 2002 EDT

Hi laborspy,
I understand the project requirements and can have it finished quickly, with throughly commented VB code. However, if you allow me, I have a suggestion: VB will be extremely slow to parse 50,000 URLs. You might want to consider C++, it will be 100% faster. I can do this in both languages, so it is your decision. Please verify my resume and ratings given by other buyers for references on my past work. I will work closely with you to ensure the final product is exactly what you need.
Dont hesitate to contact me for any questions you might have,
Sérgio Silva |
