Description:
I&'m looking for a backup utility that work with FTP server. I prefer to be C++ base with small footprint. Easy to download, install and intuitive to use are very important.
Will consider Java, if the program is tested on multiple platforms.
Not too fussy about the feature as long as is bug free, reliable and do the job.
Sorry, I confuse some people with my weak requirements.
Here is more information.
I have an online files storage service at http://biscu.com and I&'ll like to provide a free client for my customers to use it for back up purpose. The client obviously will have backup and restore option a scheduler and some sort of logging. Any other extra that you can add in will be appreciated however because I give it away for free, price is more important.
The name of the ftp server have to be “hard coded” as ftp.biscu.com , the user name and password will be provided by the user after downloading the utility. I&'ll provide some bitmap and icons do the winner for branding.
Generally backup utility tend to compress (zip) the files before FTP, this will be nice to have but is not mandatory. Don&'t forget the restore have to work the same.
Imagine this utility stay on your PC and is sending every night the files which you specify somewhere to FTP server on the Internet. I can&'t explain any simpler than this.
The developer that bit for the project shall have most of the components from other projects however be aware that I ask for the source code.
Deliverables:
Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
C++, Java
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.

I can do this project in Java in about 10 days
I can do it in VC++ but it is going to take more time
I worked before developing client server applications, and done some work before using zip classes in java
