Hi Guys
I have listed this before but had no sensible answers or offers, so here we go again.
I am writing a program in VB6 which effectively looks like 4 CD decks on the screen. I will play a wav file using each of the 'decks' and want to be able to send the sound to four soundcards. So, I want the sound from deck 1 to go to soundcard 1 and the sound from deck 2 to go to soundcard 2 and so on. I will control the actual volumes externally via a mixer.
I am not actually using 4 soundcards, just to add to the fun! It is a muti channel soundcard, namely an Echo Gina made by a company called Event. It is a single soundcard with 2 inputs and 8 outputs allowing 4 stereo outputs simultaneously.
The code I need is this:
I want to have a setup screen or just a button I click, but in any event I want a screen to appear in which I will be able to select the 'deck' and the soundcard channels for output. Once selected, the sound from each deck will play through the appropriate channels on the soundcard independently allowing me to do what I want with them through a mixer.
My knowledge is basic and I am only able to make a very pretty looking program that functions perfectly. The ONLY problem I have is getting the ability to send the sounds (wavs) to different channels on the soundcard. I want to be able to select without programming, so a dropdown box to choose which soundcard (channels) is used would be great, but I am open to suggestions.
I am told that this is possible with DirectX and with API calls, but I haven't got a clue beyond that.
Deliverables:
Source code for a form that will produce the results as above. For programming purposes, I will call the decks 'deck1' and 'deck2' and all programming can refer to them as such.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Windows 98/Me
Program MUST be in VB because I am an idiot and that is the only programming language that I understand at all.
