Description:
Visual Basic app needed to do the following:
OVERVIEW: ------------------------------------- Get data from "Search term suggestion tools" on various Pay-Per-Click search engines, noting the number of searches of certain words, and whether or not they have any current bids. This will be written to a log file for later analysis. During analysis phase, app sorts according to number of searches and displays this info for user.
HOW IT WORKS (OVERTURE.COM EXAMPLE): ------------------------------------- A logfile (called words.txt) contains a list of words.
App will take these words, one at a time, and submit them to Overture's "Search Term Suggestion Tool" at...
http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/
and retrieve the top 10 searches for that word.
Eg, if you enter "dog" into this tool, the top ten searches are:
COUNT SEARCH TERM ----- ----------- 747189 dog 372299 dog pile 183970 dog breed 97284 bull dog 94474 snoop dog 91128 dog picture 80619 dog name 49947 dog breeders 43325 dog training 38717 english bull dog
It will make a note of the number of times each of these were searched for (in the Count column).
App will then retrieve the actual search results on Overture.com for these top 10 searches and if any of these top 10 terms have NO current bids on them, term & count will be added to logfile.
App then continues with next word in the word file until it reaches the end of list or until it is stopped by user.
This data will then be used for analysis as described below.
GENERAL SPECS: ------------------------------------- The app will allow the user to select (using checkboxes) various PPC search engines that offer this same type of tool. All of these PPCs will probably require a separate pattern for parsing data.
The app will have a "start" and "stop" button that starts and stops the retrieval of data.
Once the app is finished with the list, or the user has selected "stop". A button is then shown called "Analyze".
Clicking the Analyze button causes the app to sort these saved search terms (without bids) first by the Search Engine, and second, by the number of searches performed. This data is then displayed to the user.
There are about 3 or 4 search engines that use this type of Search Term Suggestion tool, and I will send URLS to successful bidder.

Hello Bluegrass,
I have just completed a project in which I had to parse results from webpages, similar to the functionality required for your project. You may read the description of this project on this site, it is called the 'Affiliate Finder'. After viewing that, I am sure you will be confident in my abilities to complete your project.
I have also attached my resume for your review. Please also review my bio, client objectives, and ratings on RAC.
Upon acceptance of this bid, I will have your solution delivered (and tested) to you by the end of next week, ahead of the deadline you have specified. Also, as I have promised all my clients through RAC, any issue discovered after delivery will be dealt with promptly, as I believe this will encourage you to use my services again. Repeat business is good business, and my work ethics encourage such.
Let's discuss, kkmclegg |
