Description:
Overview:
Microsoft Access Database text search needs to be made functional by modifying existing code.
The text search component appears to accurately capture the record information from the filtered records and place it into arrays. This is so that the program can loop through using dynamic information.
During a previous test run with static information and different tables, the text search code worked - minor editing is expected, though not a major overhaul nor entirely new search code. Feel free to edit the table structure or directory/filenaming setup given how you see fit.
Detailed Information:
Open the "PLAN-Search" form in 4_24_Coder.mdb
Notice the main search (central area) is an initial SQL filter. It filters the records from table "montevista" given a date or type selection and displays the corresponding record information from the table. It works.
Each record in the table has a corresponding .tif file and .htm file (see mastertext folder for .htm files and images folder for .tif files). Notice the text search component in the top right corner. This is to capture the filtered results from the initial search (especially tif and path) and search the .htm files corresponding to the records for text specified by the user (in txtTextSearch). The search will cover all filtered records.
Any "matches" between txtTextSearch and the .htm files will be displayed in txtSearchResults.
When the user double-clicks on a particular "match" in txtSearchResults, it is to launch bidvue.exe (in the images folder) and open the .tif IMAGE that corresponds with that particular record and .htm file and open to the appropriate image PAGE.
When a user clicks on a particular record information box in Detail, it takes the user to another page displaying the information in an easy to read fashion. This appears to be fine. From there the user clicks Text Search. This is nearly identical to the text search on the main search page; however, it is only for the INDIVIDUAL record the user has selected. Remedy its directory problems and make it work as expected.
The included TxtLink.idx file may be relevant to any of these problems, though may not, it is not at all formatted to the present database and information - it is a result of a previous and similar text search.
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
Final Product will consist of “Fine Tuning” the Existing Database:
-Editing of pre-existing multiple-item text search of .htm files to make it functional. -Editing of code to make it "mesh" with directory structures, filenames, and table setup. -Editing of other pre-existing code to remedy other directory/access-related issues --When a user types a word into the text search box, it should search the .htm files that correspond to the records displayed in the Details subform and display the results in the TextSearchResults textbox. From there, the user should be able to double-click and result in TextSearchResults and have it open the .tif file that corresponds to the .htm file and open to the appropriate page using Bidvue.exe.
Platform:
Windows 98,2000 & XP

Hello,
My name if John Morgan and I have been an Application Developer for almost 10 years, with the last 6+ working for a Fortune 500 financial corporation(Capital One). As you can see by viewing my RAC resume, I have worked on many, many projects that involve MS Access.

I saw in your posting instructions to open a particular database and the mention of other text files, but I did not see any attachment to the request.
Regardless, I am ready to begin immediately and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks, John |
