Client/Server Programmer with 3+ years experience creating many successful database driven Internet, Intranet and desktop applications using Microsoft Windows 98/NT, IIS, MTS, COM, DCOM, ASP, EDI, Visual Basic 6, SQL 7, ADO and other technologies. Able to complete large projects independently, as well as contribute to a team.
MAJOR PROJECTS
Developed 100 percent of the following applications and databases as well as many other smaller projects
* Energy Services & Customer Maintenance Application - This is large modularized Visual Basic application with over 100,000 lines of code. This application enables sharing data between the Energy Providers database and the Electrical Utilities database to keep Customer&'s records and power usage in sync. The application produces and parses the EDI documents used to pass data between the trading partners. This is also a complete front-end application for maintaining all customer, utility and vendor information and data, and creation of reports (Crystal Reports 8). This application includes a module that handles the complicated billing of Customers, which may have many locations, meters, rates and other complicated billing options.
* APS Energy Retail Web Sales Application - This is a comprehensive ASP/HTML/XML/JavaScript web application for the retail sale of electricity to end-users. This application contains 216 ASP pages and over 26,000 lines of code. It consists of 4 separate sections: 1) Vendor, 2) Administrative, 3) Customer and 4) Public. All sections except “Public” require user to login. The Vendor section allows electricity suppliers to post their wholesale daily rates to APS. Two XML DOM&'s store all of the rate and utility information needed to provide fast quotes to Customers. Using these DOM&'s greatly reduces the disk I/O to access the Jet 4.0 database and provides a fast user experience.
* ISO Data Collection Application - A Visual Basic application with 13,458 lines of code. This application is designed to run from a desktop and retrieve data from the Independent System Operators (ISO) web site; the parsed data is saved to a Jet Database. Parsed data is also used to create excel spreadsheets and reports from within the application. This application uses Classes, ADO, built in Web Browser, SQL Server 7, Crystal Reports, Inet control and Excel object.
* ISO Price Alert Application - A multi-tier Visual Basic application with 16,003 lines of code. This application monitors the ISO clearing price for high price points that trigger an alert to the logged in users. The server portion of the application is an NT Service and runs under MTS. The server application monitors the 5-minute clearing price as well as the system demand. The client application logs onto the server application and is notified with each 5-minute interval of data. If the clearing price reaches an adjustable high or low threshold an alert is sent to the client application that pops up an alert window on the clients monitor. All activity and data collected with the server program is saved to a SQL Server 7 database.
* Automated many Excel spreadsheets to speed the collection of data for analysis.
