I've been on the internet since the end of the 80s... Hey, I live in Mississippi... things take a while here. I spent many years sysop'n bbs... really miss that renegade software... I own a good bit of programming books... No, i dont have a favorite brand... i look through them and if i find interesting topics or useful code, i support the book. Personally, I feel that you shouldnt always use the same code over and over... and if it seems annoying and long to code, maybe theres a simple way and doing it in less lines. More info to come...
