Description:
INPUT: Write a program to open and read input files (FROM A: DRIVE) which contains an unknown # of records. Each record will contain one # and one or more character strings. The # and each string will be on separate lines. The # will be an integer (single digit between 0 & 9), indicating the operation to be performed. A negative value will indicate the end of the data. A string can be of one or more characters and may contain blanks. You may assume a maximum of 50 characters on a line. Operation 0 - 5 & 8 will have only one character string in its record. Operation 6, 8 & 9 will be followed by 2 character strings (SEE BELOW). The input file will be data2.
PROCESSING: Read the file and perform the following operations. The value of the digit will indicate which of the following operations is to performed. (0) - Convert the string to all uppercase. (1) - Converts the string to all lowercase. (2) - Checks to see if the character is uppercase. (3) - Checks to see if the character is lower case. (4) - Checks to see is a character is a letter. (5) - Checks to see if the character is a digit. (6) - Performs a string copy operation. (7) - Concatenates two strings. (8) - Determines the length of a string (9) - Compares two strings.
OUTPUT: (1) - A statement indicating which operation is being performed. (2) - An echo print of the original character data. (3) - The result of the operation. In the case of a check, such as testing for lower case, the results should be a statement about the results. EXAMPLE, The character I in lowercase or The character is NOT in lowercase. Other operations are to display the results such as conversions and concatenations. (4) - Separate output from different records with a row of 30 asterisk.
