Description:
I need an update function written for an Access 97 DB.

The DB has a table called dbo_imitimidx_sql. Each record has a TEXT field called "upc_cd" which is just a number, like "80738510772". I need a function to perform the following,
scan the table for any record where the field "mat_cost_type"='F' to assign the next sequential number to the UPC_CD field.

Here is an example :

item_no mat_cost_type upc_cd
Item1 F 80738510833
Item2 F 80738510832
Item3 F [null]
Item4 W [null]
Item5 F [null]

So this function should assign a UPC code of 80738510834 to Item 3 and 80738510835 to Item 5. It should Not assign a UPC Code to Item3 since its mat_cost_type <>"F" .

I am attaching a small sample database. Please note the actual table has over 11,000 records.

Thank you,

Steve
