Description:
The OAS (Online Auction System) is an application that simulates a very simple auction using AGENT and WEB SERVICE. The system implements auctions for PC monitors only. The type of auction that the system implements is the: English Auction. The user can visit the starting page of the system and the item&'s catalogue page before he registers. After he registers to the auction service, he can sign in to the system. Then he can see the available item&'s catalogue, or he can visit his personal auction history to see the results of previous auctions that he participated and he can also ask for the buyer agent&'s help (by clicking on a link). In this case, the buyer agent of the system comes in contact with the user and asks him to fill in the details that concern the model of PC monitor that he wants to buy and the max amount of money that he can spend for the product. The buyer agent will become the representative of the user.Below are described the agent's actions: a.the agent browses the items catalogue and finds the best offer for the user ,by comparing the maximum amount of money with the price of the product. b.the agent displays to the user the offer and asks him if he wants to participate in the auction for the item, c.in case of “yes”, the agent takes part in the auction and places bid, i)when the auction is terminated, the auction system informs the user for the result of the auction. This happens by updating his auction history table (on this table there will be a column that shows if the user won or lost the auction) and by sending him an email, ii)the agent asks the user if he wants to bid on other item or to return on the the main menu or to log out. d.in case of “not”, the user returns back to the main menu and he can select one of the menu options. After the auctioned item has been sold to a user, the items list will be updated automatically. Finally, the system will be maintained by an administrator. After he has logged in, he can select one of the three options of the administrator&'s menu. These are described below: a.add a new item , b.browse item&'s catalogue, c.cancel a current auction, d.browse sold item's list. e.delete an item from the database f.view details for terminated and open auctions Payments are not supported.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program (that satisfies the requirements witten in the description part) in executable form as well as complete and FULLY COMMENTED source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. 4)Detailed reference to the software that was used for the system development and instructions on installing that software on windows 2000, NT, XP platforms. 5)UML diagrams (using Rational Rose) of the system (use case, collaboration diagrams, activity diagrams, design level class diagram, deployment diagram(software and hardware)) 6)The database files (tables,E-R diagram) developed in SQL Server. 7)A description to the way that the different files of code are connected to each other and what is the role of each one. 8)Detailed description on how to install, compile and run each part of the application (i mean the client side and the server side) so that they will work together perfectly.
Platform:
The online auction system is oriented for all the windows platforms but if this is not efficient at least for windows 2000,NT platforms. The building platform should be Java. Be careful, it is a web service, so SOAP and WSDL will be needed. The system also shpould be develope using jsp.Furtermore Apache Tomcat will be needed (as it is a web service).
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.
