Description:
We are in the midst of a project to scan and digitally archive all files currently stored in paper format in our office.

Thus far we have purchased a very high speed document scanner as well as some scanner software (paperport)

We are looking for a coder to make a dynamic php website that will hook into our intranet and allow for easy access to all of the archived files discussed above;

Basically the system should look this this - the end users will be at their desks and will be able to go to an internal website where they will be prompted for a username and password. Once inside they should see an interface which is similar to windows xp explorer. Each scanned document is placed is pre-organized sub folders on a central server.

There also needs to be a search function included (see bellow); As far as the search function goes it is key to keep in mind the fact that we are a small to medium business with 'slower servers' thus the search function has to be carefully created so as to not put a huge load on the server everytime someone does a search....

Now on the backend side....

the person scanning the docs has to be able to 'dump' scanned files into the folders where they belong on the server and they must come up instantly on the front end.....thus the need for php

Two last qucik things....

There will be no scanning of the internal words of documents....ONLY their filenames

Also if a preview functionalilty could be included this would be great as well

P.S; The scanned files do not exist in only one folder on the server...we are a Real Estate management company with many buildings....each building exists as its own entity seperate from the others. Thus there are scanned files for each building. The top folder is the name of the building and bellow that are sub folders with specific documents....mortgages...notes....tenants...electric etc....

this is the setup i need to maintain...i dont think this will make much of a difference I just want everyone to understand this at the get go

Thus when a person logs in they should see in internet explorer style all the building folders and be able to drill down and choose the files they want OR they should be able to search either all the folders or a specific folder for the files they are looking for.

and best of luck

Asher Toporovsky
