Description:
I have a group of 4 people and we need to pass code
to each other that we have written in Excel modules.
Each of us has Outlook, Excel and word and
powerpoint. Only i have MS access, i have office
developer. Within office developer is Code Librarian
which i use but don't want to have to buy for each of
us. i realize i can buy something but i want to be able to modify the tool in the future.
i would like the ability to organize the snippets of
code into categories or groups. I would like to store
the snippets in excel or access but the user must be
able to easily grab ahold of them using something you
develop in visual basic 6.0 or excel vba or office
developer. i am open to suggestions.
We are all on Windows NT and Office xp.
The kinds of pieces of code we need to be able to
access are things like this...
Sub ClearDataField()
Sheets("DATA").Activate Columns("AA:AD").Select Selection.ClearContents
End Sub

Dear Sir/Madam, The best solution to your problem lies into a software which can manage code snippets in form of a database. I plan the execution in the following way.
I would make an application that could be installed on any number of machines. This application would maintain a central database in MSAccess. The users would be able to submit their code snippets along with their category (Word, Excel, VBA, etc.) and subcategory (Column Manipulation, Sheet Formatting, Print Utility, General, etc.) also giving a brief description of the code, the application would store it in the database. The other users would immediately see the addition.
The application would expose ways to list the code segments either by category or subcategory or both. They would also have the facility to search for code with some keywords. Like they could instantly search for some code which contains the statement Selection.ClearContents. This would help a lot.
The user would have the rights to define their own categories and subcategories. Thus in case you need to add more specific categories like APICalls etc. this would help.
The software would also have the ability to export the selected data to some compressed format and send it to some other program location where it could be imported. This feature can be of great help in case some machine is disconnected sue to some network failure or some other reason.
I am Microsoft Certified Professional in Visual Basic 6.0 (Desktop & Distributed). I have given perfect solution to some of the multi national companies like Airtel (one of the largest provider of cellular services in India), Bridgestone, Eicher etc. I have also served a software house for 2 year. To know more about the kind of work I have undertaken please refer to my resume at Rent A Coder.
If you have any queries please feel free to ask, I will please to solve them. Any further suggestions are most welcome.
Looking forward for your confidence in me.
Sincerely, Mayank EDiFUS
