Description:
This importer will take a comma delimited, tab delimited, or excel table from some other medical software program output, and import whatever data it can into the Access2000 table enclosed.

The goal is to import a delimited .txt or .xls file with anywhere from a few rows to 20,000+ rows. There is no way to know exactly what sequence the imported columns will be arranged, so the the program you are developing needs to be able to allow the user to pick which rows have the data required. (E.g., the user needs to be able to define one row as the Lastname, another as the FirstName, etc.)

Once the program loads the .txt or .xls file and the user has determined which columns are which, the program needs to run through the data in each field and remove errors (e.g., apostrophes must be replaced, middle names must be truncated to one capital letter, phone numbers need to be formated in (xxx) xxx-xxxx, etc. (see the table descriptions and properties for specific settings)

The program then needs to offer the user to completely replace the current Access data, or append the imported data to the current database. If appending, the program must run through any current data in the Access table and compare to the imported data and alert the user if a Lastname field and DOB field are the same to minimize the chances or duplicating an entry. (The user should be offered the chance to add the duplicated Lastname/DOB patient, or skip that item and continue with appending.) See the attached zip that has these specs, the access table that data will be imported to, and a couple txt and xls samples to import. Thanks for your bid, I look forward to seeing what you can do!

Deliverables:
Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. Complete copyrights to all work purchased.

(Excellent)

Here is a full (crippled) example of the application you require, hopefully it's everything you expected and more.

The Code is 100% complete and very well commented, making use of standard VB controls including DAO and MS Common Controls 6.0 - No 3rd Party Components used.

Regards,

- Aaron.
