Description:
I have a client that needs a SPAM blocker. They like this one: http://www.spamihilator.com and http://www.cloudmark.com. What is your experience with SPAM blockers? What is the best approach? They do not all use Outlook (So Cloudmark will not work). Spamihilator runs client side and is a little messy to setup with some mail clients. They would like a server based solution that uses Bayesian Filters. If anyone is interested in writing one, or has pieces in place please let me know.
The client has stated they would like a Bayesian filter that any pop3 client can connect and get mail. Then a web based interface for the client to view the captured mail and to train the filter.
I would be interested in a DOT NET solution if someone is willing to write one. They are going Dot Net in a major way already.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, POP3 based mail client.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:

Hello Mr. Jason.
Having extensive experience with spam blocking application I can create the one you require without any problem.
I have already coded multiple applications, both server and client based, using most possible spam filter types. Some of these applications include:
- 5 different spam modules for a custom developed email server: blacklist/whitelist, keyword tagging, regexp tagging, ordb check, Bayesian filtering; - two client side spam applications that any pop3 mail client can connect to, therefore not limited to Outlook or most popular ones; - one complete server side spam solution with a complete web interface for administration and configuration.
All of these include Bayesian filtering. Also I have conducted personal research in this area and keep contact with all new teories, both from teoretical as well as practical side, that attempt to better the standard Bayesian filtering, and therefore going beyond what most spam applications, including commercial ones, can offer (latest studies have showed a percent of up to 99.7% accuracy in spam identification for some modified Bayesian filters).
Working in this field for more than one year I believe my experience is considerable, making spam detection as one of my key expertise areas. Combining this with already developed, tuned and tested spam modules available, that include only self-developed code, the overall application development will be a smooth process.
With respects to my general programming experience as well as additional details regarding my work background you can consult my online resume. Feedback from customers show that all projects that were awarded to me were completed to completely match and often go beyond the specifications.
I am looking forward to answering any questions and/or comments you might have at this point of the auction.
Sincerely, Catalin IONESCU Technical Vision Software Ltd |
