Description:
What I need in this project is to extract all the transaction data from Paypal for the time period given. For the current project just use the dates given after logging into paypal. First, it needs to find all the hyperlinks that shows the transactions. Then it needs to open each one and retrieve all the relivent information like address, gross amount, net amount, payment type, notes, etc. Once it gets to the end of the page, it needs to goto the next page automatically until there is no more pages left. Once there is no more pages left, then its done and it should put the contents to a text file or simple database so I can see what data is what. Once the paypal button no longer shows next, then it knows its finished. To find out what log I am talking about goto http://www.paypal.com Then click on History. From there, whatever is defaults is fine. I can write code to change the dates needed. There are 2 main formats. The first one is payments from customers. The other type is payments made with a Paypal credit card. I can provide the sample pages if needed if you do not have a Paypal credit card. Using the download option is not available in my case because there are so many transactions. I have contacted Paypal and they said that for those files, they have to be approved first. I cannot wait up to 24 hours each day to get the downloaded file.
Deliverables: The source code showing all the transaction information for the default time periods.
Platform:
Windows 2000, Windows XP

Hi Andy,
There is a download my history option on PayPal's pages. https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_history-download
Couldn't a script be written to automatically fill in the fields on this page and have it downloaded instead? Seems like less (and therefore cheaper) work to get similar results.
