The details for this project are included in the attachment. This is a very important contract for us and need to outsource this to qualified applicants only. We are hoping to extend this project at some point in the very near future to accommodate sales commissions, accounts payable etc so a clean extensible design is vital.

Even though I am very keen to do this project, I feel I must place a maximum bid.
If I am to to the project, I would want to make a first class job of it, and that takes time. Even at $500 I think it is well underpriced, but I am making the bid because I want an excellent rating on a decent sized project.
I meet your criteria in every respect.
I would need more details to finalise my advice on the issue, but unless you are committed to using Microsoft Data Report Designer, I feel it may be more appropriate to use a purpose built class for printing the invoices.
Considering the diverse nature of the invoices, we may need to design a common interface, and implement it with a number of different classes. This approach would provide an easy upgrade path for adding new invoice types in future.
You are asking for Access as the database. You may ultimately find this to be a limitation, so I will code the database operations in such a way as to provide an easy upgrade path to SQL server, should this be required in future. In fact I will test the application against both Access and SQL server, before release.
Updates to the subscription pricing might be best handled by a separate application, included in the project price.
The same might be said of the Ad Hoc report generator.
I understand what you are doing with the timestamp, but of course, you would need more than just the timestamp in the where clause.
Transactions would be handled at an ADO connection level.
My standard terms include 28 days post completion support to resolve any issues that arise once the application is in service.
Moreover, any major bugs will be corrrected free of charge for a period of 12 months. I'm pretty confident that there will not be any, but if there are, I accept full responsibilty, and will put it right.
Hope to hear from you
Best Wishes David |
