Description:
Topic: Grade statistics program
You are required to design, develop and document a program to meet the specification given below.
You should use functional decomposition to design your program.
The program should be implemented using the normal iostream input/output facilities provided by C++.
Specification
A program is to be designed which takes as its input the marks obtained by a class of students in an examination. The program outputs the number of students who obtained each of the grades A, B, C, D, E and F, and also the highest mark in the examination together with the name(s) of the student or students who obtained this highest mark.
For each student, the student's name and mark are input. Marks must be in the range 0 to 100 inclusive - if an invalid mark is entered then an error message should be output and the user should be prompted to re-enter the mark. Input of student data is terminated when the user enters a '#' character for the student name. You may assume that there are never more than 50 students in a class.
The relationship between grades and marks is as follows:
mark grade ---- -----
70 - 100 A 60 - 69 B 50 - 59 C 40 - 49 D 30 - 39 E 0 - 29 F
. Submit the following to the Campus by Thursday 8th May 6pm:
a) A source code listing. The source code should conform to the Department of Software Engineering Coding Standard. Credit will be given for readable source code.
b) A Maintenance Manual for the program. You can assume that the reader has a thorough knowledge of Unix and C++.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
windows 2000 and on unix/linux, and as a text file, eg word.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
May 9, 2003 11:00:00 AM EDT
