Description:
This assignment requires you to answer three questions storing each answer in a separate file.

Specification
Create a directory named Last in your HOME directory. Remember, directory names are case-sensitive. Set the permissions on your Last directory to drwx------. [1 point]

Record the answer to question number one in a file named 1.ans, the answer to question number two goes in a file named 2.ans and question three's answer goes into a file named 3.ans. The .ans files must be stored in your Last directory. Each .ans must have -rw------- permisisons. [1 point]

Each of the following questions are worth 1 point.

What are the differences among these commands?

$ ls junk $ echo junk
$ ls / $ echo /
$ ls $ echo
$ ls * $ echo *
$ ls '*' $ echo '*'
In other words, explain the difference between doing ls junk versus echo junk; explain the difference between ls / and echo / and so on.

Explain why

$ ls >ls.out
causes ls.out to be included in the list of names.

What command-line do you enter to do a long listing on a file named -l?

Deliverables:
answer the questions... you will have to log on in a shell... I will let you know where to go and give the username and the password once I will accept your bid.

Platform:
unix

(Excellent)

This is the easiest project I've ever seen on Rent-A-Coder, and therefore, I offer the cheapest price allowed by Rent-A-Coder.

I've been programming on Linux since 1997, and I am even the author of a couple of the man pages.

Awaiting your answer...
