Description:
This is a simple perl project for university which i do not have time to do! The purpose of this project is to generate user names for 10 school classes. You are to be given a list of about 1000 names listed in 10 files according to class. You must scan through the 10 files and generate e-mail extensions for each student e.g hotmail.com
The perl script will follow these lines: 1.prompt the user to enter an e-mail extension e.g hotmail 2.Prompt the user to enter a file name where the user names are to be written e.g file.txt 3.Prompt the user to enter a file name where generated e-mail extensions can be written to e.g e-mail.txt 4.Prompt the userto enter the files containing the actual student names
The program must ensure that the user names generated are unique across the names in the chosen student name files. They should be constructed using the initial of the forename and the complete surname.Conflicts should be resolved by appending numerals onto the end of the surname.Any names that include middle names and suffixes e.g john o connor Jnr should be treated as if they are just standard names e.g john o connor.Alluser names should be written out to the file specified by the user. All e-mail addresses should also be written out to a different file.
This project must have a design document with it i.e i must know what is happening in each part of the source code.Code should be as simple and straighforward as possible(so that i understand it)
Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. design document outlining how the project was built(high level description)

Will the Perl script be run from the command line or from a server? I'm assuming it would read the e-mail extension and the name of the output file from the keyboard, but I just wanted to check. Any other details would be nice too, if you feel like you missed something, otherwise your description seems pretty clear. And I want to make sure you know that I acknowledge your deadline. |
