Description:
A .NET dll that receives a list of strng of one or more comma separated words. For each word, the component extracts a list of all key words used for searching along with it and a count that indicates the number of times the keyword is used. Each of the keywords used is again searched recursively.
I plan to use overture for the searching and you can see a similar solution created for Overture at http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/misc/BidRequests/ShowBidRequest.asp?lngBidRequestId=58340
Please see http://www.rentacoder.com/RentACoder/misc/BidRequests/ShowBidRequest.asp?lngBidRequestId=58340
The final result is displayed in a Tree View that lists 1. A Keyword 2. A count of the number of hits the Keyword generates 3. All other associated keywords used with the main or parent keyword. 4. For each of the associated or children keywords the steps from 1- 3 are repated
The data will be in a Dataset which will update a SQL Server 2000 database containing tables designed to hold the data.
When you post your bid please let me know how long it's going to take you and give me some background information about your .NET expertise.

Aside from the promise of future work, what exactly is the job we are bidding on here?
Best Wishes David. |

OK, I've had a look at this, and I am now in the process of porting the original concepts across to VB.NET.
However, for performance reasons, I think I would do this using sockets, rather than a Browser, as in the VB6 original.
Can you tighten up on the specification of what exactly you want?
A visual component to drop onto a VB.net form?
A non-visual DLL with a function that accepts a keyword and returns a dataset?
A DLL with its own visual interface?
The 'best' choice depends on how you are going to use it.
I think, initially, I will produce the non-visual DLL, and include a VB.Net example application demonstrating its use.
Is that acceptable?
Best Wishes David
