Description:
I need you to take a list of domain names (99% .com) and gather the whois information (including registrar). My list has 995 domains.
Finished product includes: 1. File with all the whois information for ALL 995 domains 2. A script that will allow me to do this in the future
Potential Issues: I've noticed that sometimes whois servers start to not respond fully if you make too many requests in a period of time. Your script needs to deal with this, or you must know of another mechanism to get this information.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) File of whois data for 995 domains.
Platform:
I would prefer an implementation in java or perl, but I am open. I will be running the script on linux.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
May 10, 2003 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.

Hello,
I will write the script in Java.
The solution to the latency in response is to load balance. That means I will query multiple whois servers. If the load is distributed among multiple servers it will work fine.
Kindly let me know if you are interested.
Sincerely, -Aniruddh Panvalkar |
