Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Design and Create database to hold about 80 fields of information for about 10,000 business/companies. Information includes earning, balance, sales information, etc for each quarter for each year and write support module(s) to update information, for example,
Company Name: SHOE-FOR-ALL Qtr 1, 2000 Qtr 2, 2000 1. Sales $200,000,000 $300,000,000 2. Income $100,000,000 $250,000,000 3. Earning per Share $2.35 $4.03 etc...
Data contains about 10,000 companies information for 4,5 years or more, where each year has 4 quarters and each quarter has 80+ values, each with its own description, and category it belongs to. Note: The individual description MAY CHANGE over time.
DELIVERABLES
1. Create a Ms Access database structure which can hold all information specified above. 2. Provide minimum queries required to retrieve data for 1 or more companies either by categories or individual item description for a range of dates, ie. the last 4 quarters, last 3 years. 3. Database has to be scalable and be able to handle new description item and data up to 20 years of information. 3. Provide a mean to maintain or update individual item description and its categories as well as merging information if needed. 4. Provide a module to extract data from text files and update database as well as No. 3 above, with new information, including error checking. 5. All documents on the database as well as source code for all modules.

Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.

We can make a structure capable of easy modifications with good Access qrys accesed with ADO and SQL from VB6. The system will be desktop, but will work in network environment, then you can make consultations with several places. We will develop a god encoding method to support the number of records estimated with good qry reply. I also include a dinamic qry generation routine, to create the SQL sentences in response to the user interaction to simple form objects, then you can select some choices, write some conditions and the SQL Dinamic Engine will create the apropiate expression to get the asked records as fast as possible.
