Hi. This looks like an interesting project. I have some questions for you: 1) Do you have mysql installed? Whether or not you do, I am sure you will want the ability to add/remove tests. A simple way to manage tests would be to put them into a (small) database table, and manage them via phpAdmin or a custom interface. If you don't, there is no problem, the tests can be stored in a seperate file, though managing tests then becomes somewhat more difficult. 2) Tests: The bulk time on this project seems like it will be spent in just designing and entering all of these individual tests. Do you want all of the spanish and polish language tests at the end? (These will add time and expense). There are 798 English and mail-header tests on SpamAssassin, and 120 Polish and Spanish language tests. Also, are you sure your users will be including mail headers? They should, if they want to avoid being filtered. Some of those header detections listed on SpamAssassin are very simple to do, though others will require some research. 3) Scripts: There are at least a couple of scripts listed among the tests listed. Do you want those scripts installed and used? Razor2 (Do you have Perl supported on your system?), DCC (DCC is dynamic and will require some tweaking to keep up over time), Pyzor (Pyzor uses Python, do you have support?) Scripts will add additional cost. 4: Analysis: The E-zine check page gives a score analysis. Example: --------------------- Total Points 2.047
Analysis: Less satisfactory. Could get filtered by the more aggressive spam filters. ---------------------- Do you want the score to be adjustable? Do you have ezinecheck's rating system available? I could ferret out theirs for an extra $100 (by sending different text through that form and getting different scores.) Anyhow, let me know what you think. I would be interested in this project and could have it complete in one week. ~Mike Karras 602.690.8883 |
