Description:
gnode Corporation (http://gnode.com) is looking to develop a multi-page (50 or so pages) enhancement to our web site with a Javascript/Frames based front end and Perl and MySQL backend. Requirements are straightforward and detailed specs are available. We are looking for a Perl expert who knows how to write clean code and knows how to do proper error handling.
We will begin with a small sub-system with 5 or 6 screens and straightforward updates to the database. This should take no more than 20-40 hours for an experienced coder. If you perform satisfactorily on this one, then you also get to do the follow-up piece which is probably around 120 hours. If you complete this phase satisfactorily also, you can look forward to 10 hours of ongoing support/administration work with us every week.
Before you bid, make sure that you meet the following requirements: (1) You must be a Javascript, Frames, Perl and MySQL expert and you must be ready to verify that with a possible test; (2) You must have done at least 3 medium sized sites. We will need references for these three sites. Please make sure that these references are not your uncles and relatives because we will only accept references from genuine project work; (3) You must provide your resume and examples of working Perl/MySQL code; you will also need to demostrate that you understand table JOIN's in MySQL and how to access Frames using Javascript on the front end.
Please understand that in the first stage, you are bidding on 40 hours of work. So bid for this only. And, please, please, definitely mention your HOURLY RATE so that we can take that into consideration for the follow on piece of 120 hours and the ongoing support work. We will make a decision taking into account both the current bid and the hourly rate.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Perl, MySQL, Linux on the back-end Javascript and Frames on the front-end
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
May 31, 2003 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

I&'ve made two other site management applications for: www.componente.ro an online market www.tropico.ro an online computer shop. (they are in Rumanian language; other sites I've made do not use those kind of technologies.)
They use Perl/MySQL/JavaScript and all are created under Linux (only with free software)
40 hours of work means a week of work. This mean aprox. 200$ (5$/hour).
So, this bid is for 40 hours of work.

Hy Steve,
1.'Will you be able to spend 40 hours next week if we got you started over the weekend?'
Yes.I can start Sunday afternoon.
2.'And, then, if your work is acceptable, will you be able to spend 120 hours or so (more or less the whole of the following month) in the month of May for us?'
Yes.
3.'you should also be ready to spend 10 hours every week on an ongoing basis on enhancements, maintenance and support'
After i finish the project if those 10 hours will be paid as a separate fee/per week (like 5$/hour * 10 hours = 50$) i will do it.
4.I will start looking at 'PayPal' site.

Hy Steve,
1.'you will be ok to signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement with us?'
Of course.
2.'you will have to sign it and fax it back to us'
Yes. First i will make a scanner copy and i will send it to you and then i will try to send it to you by fax; this because in my country is the Easter this days and some postal office are closed.
