Description:
Using vi text editor, create a regular plain-old-text file named vi that contains the answers to the following questions. You must use the vi command on the csnet system. The vi file must be located in your HOME directory. You will need to go to http://www.deru.com/~gdt/unix1/lectures/20.shtml and clic on login to get in the csnet system. I will gove the username and the password when I will accept your bid.
Record what command-line you would enter to add your current working directory to the end of the PATH and explain why the current working directory should only go at the end of the PATH.
Give three benefits gained from using environment variables.

Record the command-line you would enter to set an environment variable named FOO to the value hello, world.
Explain what happens when you execute the following command: unset PS1 The content of the vi file should be formatted similar to the following.
Question #1 ----------- blah blah blah
Question #2 ----------- blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
Question #3 ----------- blah blah blah
Question #4 ----------- blah blah blah

The permissions on your vi file should be changed so that the file is read-able only by me, it's owner. [-rw-------]
