Description:

Need a very simple control (OCX) written in Visual C++ 6 to be used in Visual Basic 6.

Experence Required:
Visual C++ 6.0
Visual Basic 6.0
TCP/IP Protocol
SMTP/POP3 Protocols
ATL
Making Fast & Small Code

The control will be a basic 'send mail via SMTP' component, with an added feature. The control should have the ability to

automatically lookup the mail server of the reciepient, allowing the developer to not worry about choosing an SMTP server.

This should be a pretty basic project, all your doing is allowing C++ code to be used in VB. You will need to find C++ code

to send a message using an SMTP server, and code to lookup a domains MX record information. There should be heaps of this

code arround.

The control will use a simple 3 step method to sending email:
1. User tells control to send email to email address
2. Control looks up recipients domain's MX record
3. Control sends email

Basically, if I choose to send an email to 'joe at joesisp dot com' (sorry, pretend thats a proper address syntax, refer to note at top) the control should automatically lookup the MX record
for joesisp.com, and send the email using the SMTP server marked by joesisp.com's MX record. In instances where multiple MX

records exist, send to the prefered SMTP server.

The control should appear in the Visual Basic toolbox using the icon included in the attached ZIP file (small mail.bmp).

Also, the control should use the larger icon (large mail.ico) for the actual control on the form. The dcontrols description

(found in the Components of Visual Basic) should read "XYZ Co. SMTP Mailing Engine". The control (OCX) should have no

dependencies.

Control should be safely threaded so the VB calling application can still update its GUI and run timers while the control is

sending an email or looking up an MX record.

Sorry, RAC character limit cuts me off.
Attached is the methods the control should use, an example as well as the icons required by the control.
