Description:
This is an *easy* project if you know what you're doing.
What I need is an installer for an autorun file on a CD rom. Right now I have an autorun file that gets created using a program called GS AutoPlay easel. But it doesn't always work on all computers and so we have problems with people saying it "won't load"
it creates 3 files
the autorun file
and exe file
and a .gpj file
I have attached a zip that shows what it makes and how it works.
What I want is an installer that launches when the cd is inserted into the PC CD drive and installs an icon and shortcut to the CD's autorun.exe file so I can get have people
1. insert the cd
2. Have it install the icon and a program group (there will be future cd's that I will want installed in the same program group with different names)
3. When someone double clicks the icon or goes to start, programs and then goes to the program group, they can choose the CD they want to run.
I want you to make a little application that I just plug in the following information:
1. the name of the program group i want created
2. the icon I want to appear on their desktop
3. the name of the CD
and the program you create for me creates this installer for me and all I need to do is put it in the folder that has all the other files for the CD (including the autorun.exe file), burn all the files onto CD, and it will work on any PC running windows 98, 2000, XP, ME, etc.
Deliverables:
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.

Hi,
this is a very simple task.
I will make a little program which reads a configuration file where you put your information (name of the program group, icon on desktop and name of CD) and do exactely what you're asking.
The application will have a small size (I suppose less than 50kb), but I think this is not relevant to you. If you have any preference for the language, let me know, otherwise I will use C or C++.
Some enhancement I suggest:
- this application can automatically launch one or more applications you specify in the configuration file (maybe this way your autorun.exe works when the cd is inserted)
- an uninstall feature
If you wish, instead of an application I could also make a setup application (just like any other setup application you surely has seen), with a welcome screen, license, etc.
I will complete the job in a few days after the bid acceptance.
