Description:
I need a talk server implemented in c or java.
It involves a running talkserver using a client-server model. The server supports communication among different clients that are connected to it. Client program is telnet.
Two clients(client1 and client2) willing to talk to each other, first get connected to the talkserver , which will be listening for multiple client connections. These two clients must agree with each other to communicate. This is achieved by sending requests and replies for connection establishment between the two. A client is identified my a unique name.
Server should keep record of the different clients , storing information about their ip-address, port# and name. Client can connect from both the windows and unix machines.
When client 1 wishes to talk with client2, it issues a command talk client2. The server , on the receiving this message, performs a scan on its recordset to check whether client 2 has logged in. If client 2 has not logged in , the server returns a message to client1. The message is: client2 not logged in. This message to be displayed in client1's console.
If Client already in talk session then request will be denied with following message. <client-name> is in talk session. Request denied. This message to appear on the reuesting client's console
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
