Hello
I wonder if you can help. I would like an Add-in for MS Outlook 2000 that automatically deletes incoming email that came from an address that cannot be replied to. As you know if you try and reply to a SPAM email (to tell them to stop for example) you always get an undeliverable message. So I thought why not just set up a rule or build in an Add-in that checks to see if the reply address is real or not and if it is not then delete that email. This will catch the majority of SPAM without having to run word checks etc, however it also runs the risk of deleting good email (e.g. subscriptions to ezines etc.) so I would need to be able to have an 'include' and 'exclude' option so I can manualy add email addresses that I want to receive and also that I don't want to receive.
I know that there are ways of checking if an email address is real or not due to the existence of these email verifying programs that you can buy (for checking bulk email addresses). So I though it may be possible to build this into the Add-in to achieve my request.
Thank you for your attention and I hope you can help. Please feel free to offer any other suggestions to solve the SPAM problem.

Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.

i want to let you know that i have already done this part in our JunkYard.Net application. it is basically a complete Anti Spam suit that can be used by using its multiple application... for example there is an email checker utility, outlook add-in and exchange server extensions that use one database (having spam filters definitions). we have developed it in Dot Net technologies and trust me we have a clear understanding about what u require and how i will do them... here is how i will do it
- if email came from a friend's list we will ignore the spam test.
- verify the domain name of recipient email address using dns lookup
- querying the domain name server of recipient email address about the existance of the user
- if both of the above queries fail we will consider it as spam
there can be other features included on ur demand... like enemies list (user always be considerd as spammers) and ip blocking etc...
