I want to be able to manage multiple object types in a treeview where the user can add and delete nodes. The object structure should be stored in a database ( e.g. dbase or anything else ). Each objects has some properties. Here´s an example: Based on a root I have many countries. Each countrie has offices. One office can contain other suboffices. The suboffices contain servers. Each server can contain multiple users. So the solution must contain a small visual basic 6 frontend with a treeview that displays the data in the described structure, with a context menu on a object I want to be possible to add or delete other (sub)objects. On each node the properties ( text and numeric )should be view- and editable. ( The properties are also stored in the db ) Also the solution must contain the db access code to store ( read / write / modify / delete ) the object structure and the objects properties. Moving (drag&drop) objects within the tree should be included. The database is used by more than one user, so possible a simple locking mechansim is necessary. The database access routines should not use ODBC, ADO, DAO, Jet or something, they should completely implemented in the application ! The application must not have any dependencies to other (e.g. 3rd party) dlls or ocxs, and the source code must be well structured and documented. If you have further questions please contact me...
