Description:
My site requires a Java Applet which allows users to interact with one another via a chat room with both public and private conversations. Users must login to a private section where only select members based on a specific SQL table are allowed in. Once logged into the chat room, the user must be uniquely identified and assigned certain rights. A specific user must have admin privileges which allow the admin to make selections, skip users, pause the draft, and set time limit for each round of the draft. The chat room users will be conducting a draft in which they must be assigned permission when it&'s their turn to make a selection from the database. Therefore, some type of token or unique identifier must be passed to the active user who will then have permission to select an item. Users must be able to add selections to a queue from a designated SQL table, allowing them to automate their selection when their turn arrives or if they&'re unable to attend the live draft. A time limit feature must also be instituted setting a specific limit in which each user must make the selection by. In the event that the user does not make their selection within the said period, the team is assigned the first available player from their queue or the highest rated item from the database. Once an item has been selected by a specific user, it must them register that product id in a specific table disallowing other users to select the same item.

This applet/page must be robust in it ability to handle simultaneous users and multiple connections for different groups of people (i.e. group 1 has 12 users and group 2 has 25) all of which must be able to connect and use the said application without interruption. Lastly, this application must be able to connect to different database tables allowing different items to be searched and selected.

Please take a look at the following links to get an idea of the layout and functionality:

Good Day

I am java developer more than 5 year. I have following ideas about this project:
Applets have security restrictions. That is why they can connect only to the host from which they were downloaded. That is why it is necessary to create server-side center with which all apllets will communicate.
There are 2 possibility - one is to develop some server-side pages and applets will communicate with them periodically. But in this way you see that all events are not so dinamically as we want.
Another way it is use some server on the host from which applet was download. Applet connect to this server and in this way we have bidirection links between server and applet. That is why chat with such model will be really dynamic.

I have created java server. This platform can be used for your chat room but not only for this. On this moment my server is used for multiplayer online games. You can see at http://www.singlesplay.com
or
http://www.faithplay.com
If you will be interested in the second variant please notify me.

Best Regards
Dmitry Kozakov
