Description:
Here's a little background.
In the practice of opthalmology we use a device called an Optokinetic Nystagmus (or OKN) Drum to test visual acuity in preverbal children and adults.
What an OKN drum is is a large hand held drum with BLACK strips on a WHITE background. When you hold the drum up right you spin it and the patients eyes will jerk back and forth as they view the spinning lines. You can see a picture of the drum above.
NOW here is what I want:
I need a program (don't care what it's written in) that will run on a PC as a self contained, self extracting application that will simulate the rotating drum ( just the drum part, not the handle or anything else).
I would like the simulation to take up the entire screen with a slide bar at the bottom that will allow me to increase the speed of the drum from STOP to however many revs per sec or minute that myself and the codwer will agree on at the beginning of the project.
This should not be a complicated application. I will need the black strips to be a certain thickness and spaced a certain length apart. I need a little ticker or something like that at the bottom right hand corner that will indicate how fast the drum is rotating and I will need a slide bar that will allow me to adjust the speed manually.
The drum needs to be SMOOTH, it CAN NOT be choppy or stall and skip frames etc....
I am not sure what the program should be written in but I am open to any suggestions.
When placing your bid please include your plan of action and any ideas that you may have.
As stated before, the picture above is an OKN Drum
Once I have choosen a bidder I will need he or she to complete it within 10 days of the end of the auction so we can start doing research before the end of the semester.
Thanks and HAPPY BIDDING!

Hello,
I have been programming graphics related applications for several years. I could have your project finished within a day. Also, along with the speed control, I could add a control for line width.
