Description:
Given four Application Extensions (ASPtear.dll, wddx_com.dll, xmlparse.dll, and xmltok.dll) and one Microsoft Excel Worksheet (FuturesFieldTool_V1.1.2b.xls), create some way to simplify for the user the process of installing all DLLs, registering ASPtear.dll and wddx_com.dll, and opening the spreadsheet.
I don't want anything extra installed on the client. I would prefer a process which can be called from the Cold Fusion server like this:
<cfexecute
name="C:\INETPUB\scripts\MakeDLLInstallingPackage.exe"
arguments="C:\INETPUB\wwwroot\hhss_root\_AM\Customer_Data\Agency_11\Workbooks\FuturesFieldTool344.xls C:\INETPUB\scripts\ASPtear.dll C:\INETPUB\scripts\wddx_com.dll C:\INETPUB\scripts\xmlparse.dll C:\INETPUB\scripts\xmltok.dll C:\INETPUB\WWWROOT\hhss_root\_AM\Customer_Data\Agency_11\Workbooks\FuturesFieldTool344.exe"
></cfexecute>
<a href="FuturesFieldTool344.exe">My Worksheet</a>
In other words, take the 5 files and bundle them into a executable file which will install in the system folder and register the DLLs, and install on the desktop and open the worksheet from the copy of Microsoft Excel which is accessible to the user who right-clicked on the link and saved the FuturesFieldTool344.exe file to their hard drive.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
Platform:
Cloud: Windows 2000 Server (NOT running MS Office 2000) and Cold Fusion Server 5.0. Local: The link to the .exe file with be clicked from an Internet Explorer 5.X (or better) browser and the worksheet will be opened by Microsoft Excel 98 or better on Windows 98, ME, XP, and 2000.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:

Hi Dave,
I can modify the original makepkg and upstub programs to support registering of DLLs. This would probably be a good way of doing it as we know they work ok.
Again, my bid may be slightly high, but I hope you think you get good value for money with the quality of implementation as well as my communication skills and support after the project has been signed off.
I currently have no other projects so you can be assured of my undivided attention.
Regards, Paul. |
