I receive email (news-letters) messages that contain important information, which are then saved to a directory. The emails are saved as .msg, but are still considered emails. Some have attachments, while others do not. There are currently 120,000 msg files, and about 350,000 in text-size! (1) Currently have 120,000+ messages. Need to be able to place in coder's suggested database - without going over the 640 CD-Rom limit! This option - will be left up to the coder - as to what type of database should be used - if any. (2) Need to be able to search the database quickly. Speed is important! (3) A record should be displayed in a RTF control. Look and feel is not important as the database, size, and searching! More details - will be given to the coder! I would like to suggest, instead of an RTF control, perhaps using an Internet explorer view, since e-mail is natively in HTML format anyway. My plan is to load the full messages into the database, and then programmatically build a special index of the messages. What kind of searching functionality are you looking for? (e.g. one word, multiple words, all words, any words, exact phrase, partial word, etc.) Do attachments, etc, need to be stored in the database as well?
