Description:
Add bulletin board to site currently under construction. Will contain 5 or 6 forums. Require source from and familiarity with phpbb.com and prior experience with creating bulletin boards. Only present portfolio examples that contain this work. None others will be reviewed and will be considered non-responsive as will form bids. Project Goals:
Customization and Integration into existing site base in terms of functionality, fit, color and layout so it creates a branded look.
Provide detailed instructions for administration by non-technical buyer for administering the posts and bulletin board
Preapproval of all Member submissions by client before posting.
Cookies so member cannot rerate posts.
Make sure buyer has all rights necessary to make customization as described herein and use of the board on an indefinite and irrevocable basis. Any limitations of use must be explained to buyer prior to bid acceptance.
Deliverable must be in form capable of execution on site. Coder should be prepared to upload and test board on site as required for full functioning.
Choice/source of coding for bulletin board must be specified in all bids and agreed upon prior to bid acceptance.
Deliverables: 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
4) Anything you do in this project is part of deliverables. Any mockups, final form graphics, flash source code, HTML, binary files, please attach everything to a ZIP file and make part of deliverable.
Please propose your start date in your bid response and your availability and plan for approaching the project. A good response is one that tells me your experience and what you hope to accomplish step by step i.e. the order of deliverables and what you need from me up front and during the project. Expectation is that work will be performed on a daily basis, even though this is a simple project that should not take too long. Beta test for comment by buyer will precede final delivery. Do not submit "final" without recognizing that there needs to be some back and forth comment between buyer and bidder after the bulletin board has been uploaded.
Platform:
Apache. Should be capable of being viewed in all conventional browsers.
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Jan 14, 2003 EDT
Deadline legal notes: All times are expressed in the time zone of the site EDT (UT - 5). If the buyer omitted a time, then the deadline is 11:59:59 PM EDT on the indicated date.
Remember that contacting the other party outside of the site (by email, phone, etc.) on all business projects < $500 (before the buyer's money is escrowed) is a violation of both the software buyer and seller agreements.
We monitor all site activity for such violations and can instantly expel transgressers on the spot, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If you notice a violation please help out the site and report it. Thanks for your help.

Hi, If I win this bid I would plan just to install a modified version of phpBB2. phpBB has been tested by enough people to prove that its good and secure.
Also phpBB has been designed in a why to allow anyone to customise it as much as they like to fit into any site layout.
The last board I did was at http://www.jops.jolt.co.uk/phpBB2/ as you can see it fits right into the layout.
I can start work on this straight away, and depending on how complex your layout out it shouldn't take me longer than a day to complete.
Andrew
