Description:
This is an exercise taken from a textbook. It has step by step instructions that I will type as they are numbered. It has files that you will need for graphics and I will send all those as well as a Demo.exe that shows what the completed program is supposed to look like and what it does. The program also need to have several comments placed throughout it explaining what the statements do.
Deliverables: In this exercise, you will use a database to display instances of a toolbar, a DTpicker control, and a status bar.-----Instructions: 1.Start Visual Basic and create a new project. 2. Save the form with the name frmEx4 and the project with the name Ex4.vbp Save both files in a folder Chapter.06\Exercise folder. 3.Add the necessary Windows Common Controls to the project. 4.This program uses unbound controls, so you must create the necessary ADO objects to establish a database connection and open a recordset. The table in the database, which is named tblCalls, contains the following fields: fldNumber, fldStart, and fldEnd. Write the code in the Form_Load event procedure to establish the connection and create a recordset. 5. Create an instance of the ImageList control on the form. The file names for the icons are Folder.02.ico, Arw01lt.ico, Arw01rt.ico, Arw01Up.ico, and Arw01Dn.ico. Set string keys as necessary for the images. 6. Create an instance of the Toolbar control on the form. The Edit menu should be implemented as a drop-down menu that has items called Add,Update,Cancel, and Delete. The remaining buttons should be implemented as default buttons. 7. Create the remaining control instances on the form. 8. Using the unbound control processing techniques display the current record in the unbound control instances. 9. Write the code to locate different records as the user clicks the buttons on the toolbar. 10.Write the code to add, change, and delete records when the user clicks the buttons on the toolbar. 11.Create an instance of the StatusBar control on the form. Display the status of the editing keys and the current record number in the status bar.
