I could use the Microsoft Agent technology, but would rather have a uniquely owned designed solution. Initially, the agent “clone” should perform a few basic tasks, such as walking on the screen, gestures etc. I can provide the graphics based on programmers Suggestions, e.g format, size etc. It should detect the screen size and be able To be dragged to alternative locations, it should not allow off screen movements. It should be similar to the Agent found in Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.0 Or the assistant found in Microsoft Office 2000. It should be transparent as these agents are, using the BitBlt functions etc. The agent should be able to execute on the Windows 9x/Me and NT/2000 operating systems or be executed from a HTML or ASP page. Ideally, it would be developed in Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0, but Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 is just as expectable. If the operating system must be tied to Windows NT then so be it. If the initial demonstration version were acceptable, I would then request more comprehensive updates to allow better graphic manipulation and enhanced functionality. This would be on going… For Example (Future Version). It should allow the graphics of the characters to be changed Allowing graphics artists to create characters based on different Company identities. This may be template based etc. It should be able to play .Wav files and present bubble captions which allow actions to be performed, “For example: Do you wish to Jump to the corporate web site, Yes or No”. It should be COM driven so the actions and events such as move, walk, gesture and display bubble messages that can be accessed and controlled via either VB or VBScript. I think this project will be fun and challenging for anyone who thinks They are up to the job. Deliverables: Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. Special Conditions / Other: This initial demo phase should be completed in about 5-6 weeks. This will act as a framework for future enhanvements. Would it be acceptable to do the same in your app? i.e. fully reuse MS Agent control for custom characters,movements and simulate features like MS Office, instead of the uphill task of writing a custom Agent clone. this way,you just have to distribute the Agent activex dll for systems that do not have it preinstalled and use it's functionality.
