Description:
Should take an intermediate .NET programer less than an hour to do.
Previously posted. Project not delivered on time. Hired coder tried several ways to accomplish project and had a hard time debugging it. Need to have someone else take a stab at it.
I am stuck on a project at work. Previous coder hired could not get past the stuck point either.
I need the following scenario:
1) Html page with embedded object you create
2) embedded object is a WinForm, formerly known as ActiveX control. Must be written in VB.NET (NOT C#). Must be written using visual studio.net (sorry notepad users). WinForm will be a .dll, not a .exe
3) WinForm (or WindowsCtl) starts a program launches c:\dial.exe (I will send it to you) and passes a 4-digit argument when launching the program. The 4-digit number is a parameter of the object tag in the html. In other words, you should be able to pass the 4 digit integer from the html to the .dll. No text boxes will be used.
4) The only visible item on the embedded object should be a button titled -place call-
5)Within IE, the user brings up the html page, the embedded object is loaded, the user clicks the button, the winform launches c:\dial.exe passing the 4-digit number from the html as an argument.
To accomplish this, the end user is required to have the .net runtime installed and IE6.
**Use the system process namespace**.
Do not use a href='file:///.....'

Deliverables: ***the attached files are vs.net projects which work in .exe standalone, but have not been converted and debugged to run as a dll in IE. You can look at these as starting points, or you can start from scratch***
***Must be able to demonstrate working code before payment is sent. You can host it and point me to a link OR you can send just the compiled code and simple html page to demonstrate concept.***
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased.
4) Demonstrate ability to run .dll as embedded object in an html page (you'll need to send the html page preconfigured)
5) must be programed in ASP.NET using VB.NET (No C#). Windows Form must be in VB.NET
6) Must provide Visual Studio.Net Project, files, both with WinForm compiled .dll and uncompiled source. Sorry Notepad users but VS.NET is a must!
Platform:
1) Final source must run on Windows 2000 IIS server (duh, it's .net)
2) Must run within IE 6
Must be 100% finished and received by buyer on:
Nov 11, 2002 EDT

I am attaching a ZIP file with a sample HTML file and the DLL file. You will need to place these on your wwwroot folder to test. In order for this to work properly you will need to go to Control Panel and adjust the security policy settings for your .NET code. Go Under Administrative Tools, then on Framework Configuation, then select Configure Code Access, then Adjust Zone Security. For the Trusted Sites AND Intranet zone, move the dial to Full Trust. You will need to add the web site where you are hosting this to your trusted sites in IE as well. Once all this is done, go to the HTM file I provided. It has 2 parameters: (1) App to Launch, (2) Parameter for the App. For demonstration purposes I am launching a blank Notepad.exe. Depending on your System, you may have to change the path on the HTML file from c:\winnt\notepad.exe to c:\windows\notepad.exe.
There is quite a bid of changes and configurations you will have to do (all outlined above) before you can run the demo. I tested this on a W2K Advanced Server and it worked. Please let me know if you have any trouble configuring, I will be glad to help.
