Description:
Hi,
I have installed a Perl CGI script for my client and it is working fine.
I want to modify one of the Perl scripts ('signup.pl') as I have some additional functionality that I wish to add - I am unable to do so as the majority of the file is not normal readable perl code, instead, it is using some sort of crude mechanism to make the file unreadable.
I know that it is using ASCII character equivalents eg. chr(97) as well as the PACK function.
The file in question ('signup.pl') is not supported by the developer so I can get no help there.
I want somebody to:
1) Convert the file back to normal readable Perl.
2) Clearly explain and/or provide the mechanism used to convert the file back to normal readable Perl so that I can do the same for future program upgrades.
This should be a fairly simple task for someone who is an experienced Perl programmer...in terms of deciphering the code, in 'signup.pl' (which is attached), there are simply two environment variables being set and then an 'eval' function is being called to act on the results of those variables.
I have purposely not included the 'licence.pl' (which the 'signup.pl' script looks for) for obvious reasons.
Deliverables: 1) Convert the file back to normal readable Perl.
(Note: The file must still function normally when coverted back to normal readable Perl - I have included the 'signup.pl' file here so it can be examined now)
2) Clearly explain and/or provide the mechanism used to convert the file back to normal readable Perl so that I can do the same for future program upgrades.

Hi Adam
This is very easy. Accept my bid I will send you decyphered script in a minutes. But I'm on other side of the Earth, so I might be sleeping at the time of bid acceptance. If you accept the bid in an hour I think I be able to reply you immediately.

I'm lowering the price amount to attract you to my bid. Get decyphered script and my explanation how to do it for $10.
As I see from the source of signup.pl, licence.pl is not really needed and the check for its existance can be safely removed. I might be wrong though

yes, Adam, my explanation will be very easy to follow. You will need text editor that does not cut or wrap long lines and perl interpreter.
Changed script can be encyphered back to cyphered format but this is more difficult process. This will require some coding. I didn't try to write cypher script yet but I think I can do this as well. As this was not in your original bid request can I ask you to accept my first bid $20, if you really need this?

I wrote cypher that uses the same algorithm as in original script. So modified script will be undistinguishable from the original script after you apply cyphering using my cypher. Explanation of how everything works is also ready for your review.
